MANGUBADIJARRI YANNER

Tourism Operations Manager

Mangubadijarri (Mangu) is a proud Gangalidda man of the Gunnamulla clan. He grew up in Moungibi (Burketown). Mangu completed Year 12 at Abergowrie College before attending Bond University. He also recently completed an internship with the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. 

Mangu is passionate about showcasing the natural allure of his traditional lands, and as the Manager of both Yagurli Tours and the Burketown Visitor Centre he plays an important role in leading the charge to further open up the lower Gulf region to the benefits of a thriving and sustainable tourism industry. 

Mangu believes that Indigenous owned and operated local tourism ventures provide the best opportunities for local people to secure both economic development and sustainable environmental management in their communities.

Brenton Yanner

Head Tour Guide

Brenton has worked with the Carpentaria Land Council Aboriginal Corporation since 2009 and is currently the Ranger Coordinator for the Gangalidda & Garawa Rangers in Burketown. As a traditional owner of Burketown, he cares very deeply about managing the land and sea country in the lower Gulf region. 

Brenton is an accredited Savannah Guide and actively strives to use his local knowledge and training to better develop and showcase his region’s natural beauty and tourist attractions. As an Indigenous Ranger and a local tourism operator, he is able to provide a unique and valuable insight into the natural allure of the lower Gulf region. 

Brenton enjoys fishing, hunting, camping and practicing his traditional culture.
