Reposted from @bestdayeveroz Check out this amazing artesian bore we found in Burketown, QLD! The bore was sunk 702m below the ground in 1897 and has been flowing with boiling hot water ever since! The minerals in the water make it unusable for drinking or farming but have made a fascinating colourful buildup! Its like a modern sculpture or an ancient melting candle. The colours flow out from the base and seep across the vast wetland it has produced. It reached 43 degrees up here over the past few days and this week is going to be just as hot.
